The Roofdock home is equipped with Endcaps that provide shading from the high summer solar rays but allow the sun to warm the interior in the winter. Operable windows and skylights provide fresh air, cooling and ventilating the interior spaces.

Building materials with significant recycled content are used throughout. Sustainable materials, including bamboo, hardwoods certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, soybean-based insulation, and low and zero-VOC paints and sealants, keep the internal environment safe and comfortable. Energy Star rated equipment and low-E, double glazed windows ensure energy efficiency.

Green roofs provide insulation, produce oxygen and reduce storm water run-off.
